Exposure to ultraviolet light, from the sun, is a major factor in premature aging of the skin.

There are two types of ultraviolet radiation from the sun: UVA and UVB (based on their wavelengths).

• The UVB rays are known to be the most damaging to the upper most layers of the skin and are the rays that cause sunburn. UVB rays have also been linked to skin cancer.
• UVA rays have less energy but can penetrate deeper, to the dermal skins cells, damaging the collagen and elastin in the dermis leading to premature aging of the skin.

PURPOSE

UVA causes damage to skin deep below the surface in the dermis layer where collagen and elastin can be damaged. Sun damage at this level does not cause redness, but can cause wrinkles. With too much sun, UVB rays can cause surface skin damage and redness. Sun damage at this level can lead to skin cancer. Platinum Protection is designed to combat sun damage to prevent aging of the skin and keep skin healthy.

DIRECTIONS

Apply generously and evenly to all areas 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply to dry skin as needed.
