Pre colonic irrigation treatment advicePre colonic treatment advice

No special measures are necessary prior to your first treatment. Before attending your appointments, make sure that you drink plenty of water. Avoid eating at least two hours before your appointment, but no fasting is required. But please do not come for your cleanse feeling hungry.

You may take a warm bath the night before to soften toxins, or you can take an herbal tea laxative.

If you suffer from any of the following medical conditions, colonic irrigation is not advisable and medical permission should be sought from your GP before attending for any treatment :

What is involved?

Hygienic and odorless. Colonic hydrotherapy is carried out in a private and relaxing environment. Your visit will involve taking a full case history, which is confidential, followed by an explanation of the procedure. The colonic itself will take 30-45 minutes, with the therapist continuing the assessment throughout. Please allow one and a half to two hours for your appointment so that you do not feel rushed.

The therapist will gently introduce a low pressure flow of water into the colon via a tube inserted gently into the rectum. The therapist will use special massage techniques on the abdomen to stimulate the release of stored waste matter. The water will cause the muscles which line the colon to contract and expand rhythmically. This movement forces out the waste matter, gas and mucus through an outlet tube, which is evacuated out to a waste pipe. Herbal and pro-biotic implants may be used in your treatment session to assist this process.

The therapist will advise you of any beneficial dietary changes to further enhance your treatment. In addition, the therapist will also give advice on any supplements that you may require to support your health. These will be available from the therapist or from various recommended nutrition suppliers.

You should remember that it usually takes years for the colon to become clogged up with its own waste products therefore you may not release any waste matter the first few treatments. The therapist will advise you on how many treatments are needed; this may vary from one treatment to a series of treatments over a period of time.

Post colonic treatment

After the session we advise you to eat easy to digest nourishing foods such as vegetables, soups and broths. You may feel a little tired or nauseous due to movement of the old toxins and debris from the colon. If you have discomfort a warm hot water bottle placed on the abdomen will ease this and a warm peppermint tea will soothe the discomfort. Any of the symptoms will last no more than 24 hrs.
